3d Regional Hindi conference held in Moscow on October, 26-27, 2016

RSUH Hindi group students Alexander Belikov, Olesya Koryuka, Anton Makarov, Masha Shcheglova, Vera Lebedeva and Victoria Bazyleva (Department of international relations and regional studies) were volunteers at the 3d Regional Hindi conference held in Moscow on October, 26-27, 2016.

The Hindi conference was organized by the Department of Indian studies of MSU and Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre (JNCC), Embassy of India in Russian Federation.

 

The Inauguration ceremony took place at 11 am at the University’s Imperial Hall. According to Indian tradition the lamp of friendship was lighted by Prof. Igor Abilgaziyev, Rector of IAAS and distinguished guests – Mr G.Balasubramanian, Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Jeysundhar D., Director JNCC, Dr. Abhishek Vaish, Counsellor, Science and Technology (S&T) Wing,

Embassy of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, Rajesh Vaishnaw, Joint Secretary (Hindi & Sanskrit) of MEA Government of India, prof. Boris Zakharyin, distinguished Professor of Moscow State University.

 

There were students of the Indian School of the Embassy of India in RF who sang a welcoming song in Hindi.

The conference is being attended by experts from 12 countries – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria and Hindi teachers from Kazan Volga Federal University, Saint-Petersburg University.

Among Indian guests the RSUH students listened to a lecture of Prof. Omkar N Koul, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad,

Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Hindi Academy; professor in Hindi at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam,

Aditya Chaudhary, Administrator/Editor of Bharatkosh.org, Ms Chitra Mudgal, one of the leading literary figures of modern Hindi literature.


There were more 80 “Hindi Premi” participants at this conference: students and teachers of Russian State University for Humanities, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Faculty of World Politics of Moscow State University, scholars from the Russian Academy of Sciences, “Hindustani Samaj”, the largest organization of the Indian community in Moscow, “Russian-Indian Friendship Society “DISHA”, “AMRIT” Indian Cultural Centre in Tarusa city Kaluga Region.
