The topic of the workshop was: "Interim Results of G20 India Ministerial Summit"
After the November G20 Summit in Indonesia, the presidency of the group of twenty most influential countries in the world passed to India, which holds the presidency as of December 1, 2022.

More than 200 meetings will be held in New Delhi, with the meeting of foreign ministers being one of the most important events leading up to the final G20 leaders' summit on September 9-10, 2023. The presidency will then be handed over to Brazil.

Prof. Stolyarov opened the meeting with an introduction to the history of the G20 and its main areas of activity.

Amina Mukhametkhanova, the 4th year student, spoke about the role of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar at the summit.

Sai Mekhonoshina, the 4th year student, prepared a presentation on the challenges of the global economy, sanctions against Russia and the problem of food shortage.

After the presentations there was a lively discussion about the reasons why the two-day G20 session ended without a final statement and only with the issuance of a "Chairman's Summary".

The G20 Undergraduate Seminar is held monthly and aims to build the professional and scholarly competencies of undergraduate Asian Studies students.
