Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Moscow as launched an All-Russian Hindi Essay and Poetry Recitation Competition on the occasion of World Hindi Day 2024.

Guidelines for the Hindi essay and poetry recitation competition

for the Hindi Diwas Celebration  February 9, 2024

The competition shall be conducted in two nominations and two age categories.

The nominations are: (i) essay writing competition, (ii) poem recitation competition.

The age categories are: (i) 18-30 years old, (ii) 31-60 years old

One person may enter one nomination only once.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

1. Submission deadline: 25.01.2024

2. Essay topic: भारतीय संस्कृति के प्रति रूसी लोगों का प्रेम

3. Essay requirements:

Word limit: 450-500 words.

Script: Devanagari.

In the header of the document, indicate the title of the work and your full name (not included in the word count).

4. Format of submission:

Submission shall be done through an online form. The form will prompt the participants to specify their full name and contact details (e-mail, mobile number), select their age category, select the competition nomination (essay writing competition or poem reciting competition), and upload the file with their work.

The submission format for the essay competition is a PDF file.

Any other form of submission (through E-mail, etc.) shall not be accepted.

5. File name requirements:

The file title should include the applicant’s name, last name, and the essay title: Name_Last Name_essay title.

6. Criteria of assessment: (i) Language knowledge, (ii) Paper contents.

7. Additional queries may be addressed to jnccrussia@gmail.com.

8. Awarding the winners: Winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd prize) of the essay competition in each of the age categories will be awarded with a named certificate and a cash prize.

●       Moscow-based winners may be invited to the Embassy of India for the official award ceremony. They may be requested to share thoughts on their essay.

●       Winners who reside outside of Moscow may be requested to send a video message to be displayed at the award ceremony, while their certificate may be mailed to them and cash prize may be sent as a bank transfer.

   

POETRY RECITAL COMPETITION

1. Submission deadline: 25.01.2024

2. Poem selection:

Any poem by: (i) Harivansh Rai Bachchan, (ii) Mahadevi Verma, (iii) Ramdhari Singh Dinka

3. Format of submission:

Submission shall be done through an online form. The form will prompt the participants to specify their full name and contact details (e-mail, mobile number), select their age category, select the competition nomination (essay writing competition or poem reciting competition), and upload the file with their work.

The submission format for the poetry competition is a video file with the applicant reciting the poem.

The video should start with the applicant saying their name, the poem name, and the poet.

Any other form of submission (through E-mail, etc.) shall not be accepted.

5. File name requirements:

The file title should include the applicant’s name, last name, the title of the chosen poem and the poem’s author in the format: Name_Last Name_poem title_poem author

6. Criteria of assessment: (i) Correctness of pronunciation, (ii) Expressiveness of presentation.

7. Additional queries may be addressed to jnccrussia@gmail.com.

8. Awarding the winners: Winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd prize) of the poetry competition in each of the age categories will be awarded with a named certificate and a cash prize.

●       Moscow-based winners may be invited to the Embassy of India for the official award ceremony. They may be requested to recite the poem they have submitted for competition.

●       The video submissions of winners who reside outside of Moscow may be displayed during the award ceremony, while their certificate may be mailed to them and cash prize may be sent as a bank transfer.
